Vent sesh...

Some of the people at work are startin' to get really dramatic.  There is so much back stabbing and talking behind peoples backs that it is getting sick, its crazy I tell ya.  I guess i have just always been used to people that are pretty honest and hard working.  A lot of the people that i work with have a really hard time working hard at what they do or just plain being good workers.

When i work i am basically left alone to work with all of the patients that come in, well i this is only on Tuesday and Thursday, the other days i work with some really really great people that work hard and look out for you.  Anyway, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, i work by myself, even though there is another person that is scheduled and is supposed to be back in the gym with me watching patients, working with them, making sure they do their exercises right, showing them new exercises, stretching them out, keeping an eye out for things the therapists should know about their patients, etc, etc, etc.  Well this is a pretty long list of things to do for ONE person (me).  Now multiply this by like 10 people at the same time and you have what i do on those 2 days.  Now, yes, this person does come out occasionally just to stand next to a table with their arms folded just looking around and doing nothing.  I take that back, this person tells me what to do and has the attitude, "i have been here for 4 years, i know everything about everything and you don't know a single thing about a single thing."

Then this person has the nerve to tell one of the patients i was working with that they are done with their exercises, turns around and goes back to their phone in the laundry room and proceeds to do what they have been doing every time i work with them... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

So now i have to clean up with this guy and let him know that he really has 5 more exercises he didn't know about that he has to do today.  I don't know if that all made sense, it did to me, but needless to say, this person has no business working as a physical therapy tech.  This person's attitude is one where i have literally had patients come up to me and say, "THANK YOU SO MUCH for actually helping me and being there when i had questions or concerns, there are other people working here that i have seen a bunch of times and they don't even stick around long enough for me to ask a question."  This actually happened to me today.  A guy pulled me aside, shook my hand and told me how grateful he was that i was there to help him out because he had been treated like cattle before.

I really do have a huge, i don't know if i wanna call it a testimony, but a great understanding and appreciation for being nice to people and treating them like you care, no matter how bad of a mood you are in.  People will give back so much if you just treat them like they are important, i know it.

I don't even want to get started with the front desk.  I'll just say this, EVERY SINGLE survey that we give out comes back with, on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being the worst) no more than a 3 on "did the front office staff help me/were they inviting/did they explain everything accurately to me/ did they actually do their job" section.  I don't understand how these people, save a couple of them, live that way.  It blows my mind.

Im hoping this little vent session will help me get over today, but i was really upset and annoyed at how i was, and everyone else was treated.

So there ya go... be nice to people and treat them with respect and they will do the same, if not more for you.
