Day 23

Today was a pretty big deal... First of all, we got the shaft again with the house, not that we didn't get it, but they told us, once again, that they would "let us know...tomorrow" which is the exact same thing they told us on Monday, and today is thursday.  Anyway, we are still hopeful and have good attitudes toward it! Its out of our hands now!

But here is the good news!!

I GOT A DRUMSET!!!!! Yes, i got the thing that i have been wanting for like 10 years! Brighton even remembers me talking about wanting one even before we got married.  Its gotta be a big deal then!  Well the story behind it is...

There was a lady at work who was coming in for her knee that i became pretty good friends with.  I was always nice to her and she was always nice to me.  That happens when you are nice to people, imagine that.  Well i was with her through the entire time she was in her brace and coming in for therapy, i was even there when she did the exact same injury to the other knee when she had finally gotten the brace off of the first knee! I was literally standing right next to her helping her off the bike. Anyway, she has been coming in for a long time.

Well, a couple of months ago we got to talking about her family and she mentioned that her husband plays the drums and actually played with Queen and a few other sweet rock bands.  Well she also happened to mention that she was trying to sell her husbands drum set because he works way to much and never plays it.  I was alllll over that one!!! I called Brighton from work and told her that this lady was selling this nice drum set for like 150 bucks (oh by the way, this drum set is worth much much more than that!) and that i wanted to buy it! Brighton told me that we didn't have the money and that we don't have any space for it and it just wasn't the time in our lives to have a drum set.  Which, after a little whining, i agreed that that was the best for our little starting family.

A couple months had gone by and the lady had been discharged from the clinic and on to normal life.  Well.... i walk into work today and Stacy, one of the girls at the front desk, hands me a piece of paper saying that i need to call someone back.  This never happens to techs, so i was intrigued.  I call the person back and low and behold, its the lady! She asks how I'm doing and gets the updates, and vice versa.  She goes on to explain that they are cleaning out their house and getting new furniture and a tv, etc. She then explains that her and her husband were talking about the drum set that they had put on craigslist, the very same drum set that i wanted to buy.  She said it hadn't been sold and it didn't look like anyone would be buying it anytime soon.  So I'm sitting there thinking, "ok whats up, i gotta get back to work, get to the punchline" Well it was nicer than that in my head at the time because this lady is awesome.

She says this, "my husband and I were thinking that he never plays it, we don't have room and Juston really really really wanted it, lets just give it to him!" So thats what they did!!!! They loaded it up in their truck and drove like 20 minutes all the way to our house and set it up for me in the garage! THEY GAVE IT TO ME!! That is one of the coolest things anyone has ever done for me! I felt like i couldn't thank them enough! I mean, what can you do!? I am seriously soooo happy today and i finally can pursue what i LOVE to do!

I seriously find myself air drumming and tapping my feet and hands... i think its kind of annoying, but now i can let it all out on that beautiful set of drums!
