Awwwwwkward...

Myself and my beautiful wife were invited to the wedding of her best friend in Newport Beach, CA. Well they were helpful and kind enough to find us lodging at the home of one of her friends. The house was pretty sweet and had plenty of room for us and another couple that was there for the wedding. Well we were told that we were invited to the rehearsal dinner at some mexican restaurant and that the other couple was not invited. Needless to say we had to keep things on the down low. Well the family that owned the house asked us, in front of them, what we would be doing for the night. We quickly responded with a devious answer of, "probably just gonna get something to eat and just hangout here!" Well of course that was NOT what we were gonna do, we fully planned on going to the dinner and eating some delish mexican food.
The night went well. We got a bunch of free mexicano food and enjoyed some quality time with the soon to be Barttels family. So we head back to the house to get some sleep for their big day. I won't add any details about the wedding but it sufficeth me to say that it was a great wedding!

We head out to the reception that is at a country club to get ready for the partay. So because we don't know a soul at the reception, we sit next to the couple who is staying at the same house as us. We eat a little, talk a little, and relax while we wait to see the cake get cut, etc. Well the Groom's brother and sisters sit down at out table and get all settled in. Here's the kicker...

The brother comes back to the table and starts to introduce himself and stops when he gets to us and says, "nice to meet you i'm Brad's brother... wait i've seen you guys before, weren't you at the rehearsal dinner last night? Yeah! I remember you guys, you were sitting off to the side!"

OOOOHHHH stab straight to the heart! We couldn't even look at the couple we were with, the best part is literally 5 seconds before he said everything we had just gotten done telling the couple that we just hungout and went to some mexican place for dinner. Oh how wonderful karma is, thou shalt not lie or cover up for someone's deception should be in the 10 commandments because it sucks when you get caught and have to hangout with them the rest of the night!

Awkward...

Hahahaha...

That is a fantastic story. But to your credit, your story was half true...you did eat Mexican. :)

Nice! Did you try to explain? Or did they just have looks of disgust for the rest of the night? And at least you wont ever see them again!
