House Painting Projects: Part I

So i have been working on painting some things before we move in and i wanted to put some pictures of before and after of what i have done so far! Im gonna start with the hutch...

Brighton got this at DI for like 25 or 30 bucks or something and brought it home hoping to get it looking a lot nicer than it did.  Well it has been sitting in the garage for a long time now and i finally got the thing out to start painting it.  It was a super ugly brown color with gold handles, etc.  It really is amazing what you can do with a little bit of sand paper and some paint!

Now, i know that white is kinda boring, but the hutch looks awesome! Brighton is going to paint the back of it a fun color and we will probably put our nice dishes into it, and it will reside in our kitchen!  I must say, I'm pretty handy with a brush and a roller! Oh and thanks to Curtis for coming over and helping me out, it made things go a lot smoother.

I want to put up some more pictures of the mirror we got from Brighton's grandpa and the chandelier we snagged out of a dumpster.  It is pretty dang sweet let me tell ya.  The colors were Brighton's idea and it look amazing.  I hope that is enough of a teaser to keep you coming back for more, but i will post more when i get the pictures off of the camera that is in Utah at the moment!

Oh here is another thing that was pretty amazing that happened this week.  We were in need of a couch or something to put into one of our rooms in the new house so that we could actually use the room for something that we want.  We looked through the furniture catalog and found a couch that we really want but were not able to afford it, at least for now.  Well, one of the therapists i work with texted me and said that we could have their really really nice futon!! We went and picked it up this weekend and set it up in the living room, and I'm pretty sure it is more comfortable than our bed!  We are definitely blessed!
