It has been a while since i last blogged and i have decided that i have said that way to many times before! Im gonna try to do better and keep everyone updated with whats going on!
I figure i better start with telling you how everything went when our beautiful baby boy was born and how i felt!
Jackon was Born on October 5th 2011 and i remember vividly when Brighton woke me up at like 3 in the morning to tell me that her water broke! I don't know what it is about her waking me up to tell me big news but it happens all the time haha. The same thing happened when we found out she was pregnant.
I wasn't really all there when we were getting ready to go to the hospital. I was pretty confused but finally got everything ready to go and we left! We thought it would be very important to stop by Jack in the Box to get some grub before we were stuck there for a while. I got a breakfast sandwhich and Brighton got some egg and sausage sandwhiches, which she didn't end up eating if you were wondering.
We made it to the hospital and got put into a little room by a nurse who didn't much care for us to be there really, or maybe thats just how i felt because i was freaking out just a bit. We ended up staying in that room while the nurse proceeded to come in and out checking on us, yet never really having any news for us that helped. She came in and checked brighton a couple times then would leave for about a half an hour. Anyway, it was annoying and we were both tired, Brighton especially, she had a baby coming jeez!
Well long story short, the nurse came back in and said, and i quote, "you pee'd your pants, that was not your water breaking. This happens all the time, you guys can go home until your water actually breaks." Yeah, stupid. Im pretty sure that someone could never pee that much in one sitting, ever. If you did, please sign yourself up for the guiness book of world records immediately!
We went home and Brighton started to have some pretty bad contractions, in fact, we made it to the freeway and she already started to have them, but we just figured that it was the start and if we went back to the hospital they would tell her to walk around because it would make them stop. Well, they didn't.
We barely made it to the hospital because she was in so much pain, and she was so tired that she even fell asleep during or between the contractions! We made it back to the hospital and we got a nurse that actually cared about us and didn't just treat us like brand new parents, which we were. We went into a bigger room and got Brighton all hooked up and within a couple minutes they determined and concluded that she should start pushing because she was dilated to an 8! Yes, that means she went from a 1 to an 8 in about 2 hours because of the stupid nurse who said Brighton pee'd.
Well, Brighton got the epideral and started feeling amazing and, oh, about an hour later we had a amazing, beautiful baby boy!! Oh, one other note, during delivery our doctor's phone went off at full blast and his hands were obviously busy so it played the full ringtone which sounded something like... da da, da da, repeated a couple of times.
We stayed in the hospital the whole day and night, which was our first night as parents!! Crazy, and like all the old wives tales have said, we did not sleep much! I woke up to a bunch of doctors and nurses and our pediatrician talking to Brighton, they didn't even wake me up! Oh well, it was the day to bring Jackson back with us!
I am going to write another blog to continue this one talking a little about my feelings on being a father and what it was like to go through the delivery process and all of that good stuff!!
Stay tuned...
