The other night we had a little shabang at my bosses house with some grub and the lakers game. We ended up playing this game called "In the Manner of the Adverb", which happens to be quite a hoot. Here is what you do...
1. Pick someone to leave the room and think of a scenario (pronounced scene-awwwrio)
2. While the person is outside is concocting their scenario, the people still in the room think of an adverb, ex: happily, sadly, graciously, etc.
3. The person then comes back in and presents the situation to everyone in the group and chooses the people that will be acting it out.
4. The people then act out the chosen scenario "in the manner of the adverb" that was chosen!
5. The person who chose the scenario then guess what the adverb is.
Anyway...
Pretty much the funniest time i've had in a long time! I think that is probably so because we got to the point where we could not think of any other adverbs, so we resorted to using normal words and adding "-ly" on the end, ex: Juston-ly, sexual predator-ly, news anchor-ly, etc. Yes, they used Juston-ly and openly mocked me in front of all of my peers... oh well, i have a self esteem. I got to act out stuff that ranged from hick-ly to sensitively. One of the funnier ones was when a few of the guys acted out a scene "alphebetical-ly". They basical-ly had to have a conversation starting each new sentence with the next letter of the alphabet, hilarious!
It was pretty fun, i wish i could remember more of the scenarios but it sufficeth me to say that it was sweet and i definate-ly suggest it everyone! One of my favorite lines was one a couple that was there, the wife is pregnant, had to act out some scene gangster-ly. They both sat down in chairs and pulled their hats down low and sat all hunched and she blurts out, "dude, you knocked me up!!", I guess you had to be there...
